Sarah Ferguson found these post cards from her first visit to Verbier in 1961. “We stayed at the Hotel Grand Combin. The restaurant is Savoleyres. The view of Savoleyres is from Mont Gele. (I don’t know how to put an accute accent on that last e).
The folding panorama -when viewed with a magnifying glass shows possible access to Ruinettes. By the “Fridge” and then Ficelle? Not clear.
I thought you might like this for the Verbier website.”

Chris Evans sent these from Australia and commented that: Please find the photos attached. Some background/observations on the photos attached I believe each of these were taken by my late grandmother Avril Evans (née Holloway) on a skiing trip she took to Verbier in January 1961 with a group of people, presumably from the World Health Organisation […]
Nick Lyster provided these two photos of his chalet in the 1960s. He acquired the chalet in the early 2000s. It is on Chemin des Fees in the Hameau area of Verbier – note the absence of any other chalets at that time.
1964 : recherche neige désespérement. Dans les stations de ski, le moral est au plus bas.
